Our mission at Excel Tool & Die is to provide accurate high-quality tooling on time to our customers. As with any businesses, we are also conscious of cost. We provide reasonable rates with high quality service. Our state-of-the-art equipment allows us to produce a high quality product in a shorter lead time.
Our machining center capacities travel up to 60” at 1000 ipm cutting speed with a 4,000 pound table load. Our spindle RPM is as high as 30,000 RPM.
One example of our state of the art equipment is a laser welder. As the demand for higher quality repair and engineering changes increase, we have answered with the newest technology in welding: the laser. This highly accurate and extremely low heat bonding process allows us to add steel exactly where it should be with no measurable stress to the steel. Machining is dramatically reduced, and at times eliminated.
Another example of our highly accurate machining is our Charmilles large capacity Wire EDM. Our wires travel as much as X 27” - Y 17” - Z 17”. We are able to wire a 30 degree cone at a 17” height. The table weight capacities can be up to 4,000 pounds.
Sinker EDM’s are a critical part of our operations. We offer a CNC EDM service with up to 24 tool position changers. Our tank size is up to X 72” Y 42” and 38” head to table.
We also offer a quality inspection department, mold sampling, and heat treating among many other services. Our customers' needs are our first priority, and we have the capabilities to satisfy most any customer needs.
Tool and die makers are a class of machinists in the manufacturing industries who make jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, machine tools, cutting tools, gauges, and other tools used in manufacturing processes.
Tool Making
Tool making typically refers to those instruments used to create products. Common tools include metal forming rolls, lathe bits, milling cutters, and form tools. Tool making may also include precision fixturing or machine tools used to manufacture, hold, or test products during their fabrication. Due to the unique nature of a tool maker's work, it is often necessary to fabricate custom tools or modify standard tools.
Die Making
Die making is a subgenre of tool making that focuses on making and maintaining dies. This often includes making punches, dies, steel rule dies, and die sets. Precision is key in die making; punches and dies must maintain proper clearance to produce parts accurately, and it is often necessary to have die sets machined with tolerances of less than one thousandth of an inch.
